Today is “”MIYAJIMA””.

After visiting Peace Park,Board the ferry for Miyajima and check out the oyaster beds en route.

Feed the deer, stroll through town ,buy sweet chips in the back street and visit the temple at the top of the 100 steps (highly recommended during Autumn).

Admire the beauty of the world-heritage Itsukushima shrine , take plenty of pictures and pick up some Maple Leaf cookies as a souvenir on the way back.

Tip: make sure you ask for cream-filled cookies if you are not into sweet-bean fillings.

If your guests are here during August,be sure to visit the holy island during the Kangensai Festival.

It is the most colorful festival held on the island and is fun to watch.

Any JR train to Miyajima-guchi / Densha number 2 to Miyajima-guchi.

Leave the station and head towards the ferry terminal down the street.

Upon your return , be sure to board the ferry for Miyajima-guchi, adn not Hiroshima Port.

By car, take route 2 to Miyajima-guchi, turn in at the gate on the left to get to the parking lot.

Or , drive onto the ferry and fiding parking on Miyajima.
but I don’t sugest you.
